Filling in a pool?
Has anyone filled in an inground pool or have any idea how much this might cost?

Re: Filling in a pool?
My parents did it years ago...I believe my father rented one of those trucks like a dump truck (?) and then had sand delivered, and filled it himself.
I am sure they did this to:
a) save money
and
b) my dad was pretty comfortable doing such tasks.
I'm sure that most people probably hire pros, though.

Re: Filling in a pool?
We have asked about it and was told it could cost as much to fill it as it would to replace it. YOu also have to have the town come in and void your c/o etc--it is my understanding it has to be done with their supervision--like everything else on this island :)
I could be wrong about the town though but that is what we have been told by 2 or 3 different pool guys.

Re: Filling in a pool?
My mother has a 20' long figure 8 shaped pool, the deepest end is 6' and the lowest is 3'. Three years ago her liner ripped (it was 20 years old) and she got a quote to fix it $7000 and a quote to fill it in $15000. She replaced the liner.

That's what I was afraid of
