finallly we have a closing date! and i have questions
well after messed up paperwork and miscommunications we are closing TOMORROW 
We have the walkthrough at 11
Quick question
this house has central a/c when we had the inspector come it was too cold to turn it on...i was told to turn it on it if it is above 65 degrees out
It is ok to turn it on during the walkthru right?
then also did anyone run the washing machine on the day of the walktrhough?? I know i prob should but i feel dumb
But I cannot wait to get in this  !

Before you start the actual walk thru/inspection, turn the washer on and dishwasher on and just verify that they're not leaking, etc.
Same with the A/C.
This way they're running when you are inspecting the rooms, etc.

The A/C shouldnt be a problem. Im sure it will be on for a few minutes anyway so you have an idea.
Beleive it or not, we didnt try the washer and dryer on walk through. But we knew they worked during inspection. We just didnt bother I guess. They were fairly new also.

test EVERYTHING and dont be shy about it! bring a nightlight with you too and test out all of the outlets.

we tested it all (with the except of the AC) during our final walkthrough. Sadly, the dishwasher worked fine, but there was no dishes in there. When we moved in and did our first load, we realized the dishwasher didn't wash dishes, it left a dirty residue on them.
We couldn't check our central air because it was Feb'07, but we did bring in an AC specialist who was able to determine the status of it after the inspection.

Test everything!! We ran the dishwasher, turned on the oven, turned on all of the gas burners, brought a night-light and tested every outlet, turned on the air conditioner, turn on every light... don't be shy!!

Good luck at your walk through and closing!!
We didn't really test anything because we knew we were guting the place and it didn't really matter. But if your house is move-in ready, then test everything!!

All went well with the walk though and closing!!! WE are owners!!!!!!!!
Now the work begins! We are gutting the bathroom prob tomorrow and starting to paint
