FINALLY a Diagnosis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom has been in and out of doctors since the beginning of August...her knees were swollen, as were her elbows, etc....Bloodwork showed nothing, she was in severe pain, on different kinds of medications, etc...she was off her feet mostly from August on...could not drive, and could hardly walk,

Well, today she got what we consider her Christmas Miracle...she met with a new Rheumatologist who finally diagnosed her with Rheumatoid Arthritis. He is 100% certain that is what it is, even though the bloodwork does not show it, but every other symptom, etc she has points to it.

FINALLY my mom is being treated...FINALLY she feels like she has a doctor she can trust..he told her, I will make you 100% better--I guarantee you.

I am just so overjoyed that she can finally hopefully begin to feel better, it was a major rollercoaster for my mom and my family, not knowing what was going on with her and they just kept giving her different metds, but not treating for anything specific.

Thanks great news! My sister has RA since the age of 13 and it took her YEARS to finally be diagnosed. I know exactly what your mom went through. Here's to getting the help that she needs to feel better!!

Not much in the world feels quite as good as a correct diagnosis!... many prayers that she will react positively to treatment
RA stinks for those who have it bad... but there are treatments out there that work virtual miracles

I mentioned last week that my dad has an illness that is related to RA. He has scleroderma. His is a very classic case of it, yet his bloodwork is negative. There are a lot of people who have these illnesses and do not have the bloodwork findings.

My mom had surgery on her elbow in August because the cartilage deteriorated so bad, it was bone rubbing on bone.

The doc says eventaully she may need an elbow replacement
