Finding it hard to stay positive.
I read today that Guillana and bill rancid are adopting...it just depressed me. It is wonderful that they are adopting, but the also had miscarriages and I was hoping they would be able to conceive...I guess it makes me lose hope.

Re: Finding it hard to stay positive.
I actually cried when I heard the news. I was surprised that they had decided to stop treatments but I also read the are stopping for now to adopt and will eventually try again. I have followed their story for years, even before my own battle with infertility. Just stinks.

Re: Finding it hard to stay positive.
I think there are too many factors to consider... Some couples are more willing to adopt faster than others.. some couples choose to not deal with the rollercoaster of infertility the way other couples do.... It's also possible they said this just to get the media "off their backs" and take off the pressure of trying to conceive. It's totally possible they aren't REALLY stopping.
Just my opinion

i agree i actually think it's great that they are considering adoption and i don't think it necessarily means they are giving up on the idea of having a biological child someday.
i know for us, we would readily adopt if we had the funds to do so. i've always wanted to adopt a child even before my struggles with pregnancy. maybe they feel the same--that adoption is one way of starting their family, but they won't give up on the other ways as well.

I agree with this. I don't watch their show and have only casually followed their struggles with IF, but for some people adoption is an equivalent alternative to fertility treatments. For some, it is even more appealing. To be completely honest, if DH said to me right now, "let's adopt," I would do it in a heartbeat. We would still keep our dream of having biological children, of course, but would be able to start our family in a different way.
I'm sorry that you're feeling sad.
