Fire Dept Installation Dinner
I have never been to one and my DH and I were invited to this years for our local dept bc one of our best friends was elected President and he would like us to be there. Has anyone ever been to any of these? Are they formal, semi-formal? I dont know how to dress for it?

Fire Dept Installation Dinner
My dad was in the Floral Park fire department for years. I've never been to an installation dinner but my step-mother always got pretty dressed up. An LBD would be good, or something along those lines.

You will probably see a variety of dresses. I usually wear a nice cocktail dress.

Depends on where it is. My ambulance corps had them and we started out in the KoC in the early days, now they're in catering halls. I've been to ones for FD's in restaurants as well.
I'd say let the venue dictate the outfit.
