fire pit?

I wanted to get DH one of those fire pits for outback. Have no idea what is good vs bad. Can you put them out on a backyard wood deck?

Re: fire pit?

I've seen some that are very sturdy, but I don't think i'd chance it on a wooden deck.

Re: fire pit?

You cannot put them on a deck..any of them. It's just not safe.
Buy a nice one and put it on the lawn near the deck.
We built one out of stone right off our deck....you can sit on the deck and enjoy it or pull up a chair next to it.

I definitely wouldn't put it on wood. I know someone that did & it darkened the wood directly below the pit & looks like it would've caught fire in another 10 minutes...The embers that flew around when he had the cover off also left little burn marks...I'd stick with the patio or grass...

Re: fire pit?

That looks almost exactly like the one that my friend has...I think that the heat coming from the bottom is just too much after a while so it's pretty risky...
