First a tree falls on our house, then the pipes burst and now...

our mailbox was stolen!!! The ENTIRE thing is GONE- just gone- post, box and all! Chat Icon DH looked up and down the street and it is no where to be found. It wasnt even a very nice mailbox. It was actually kinda busted...I just dont get why someone wold just take it... and there is another one right next to it still there.

I can't help but laugh- only us... the only scary thing is is that we didnt get the mail yesterday, so who knows what we are now missing! Chat Icon

im not sure if we should- DH said that they have more important things to do then to worry about filing a report about our mailbox... but this is coming from the man who was nervous about calling the cops when the tree fell on our house and took down the power lines!

I might think about calling only because they could be doing it to other houses too. But it really isn't that big of a thing, but that really isn't the point right. GL!

Oh Cortney, that's terrible, I'm just glad you can laugh about it!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I would actually call the Post Office and ask what you can do. I mean opening someone else's mail is a crime, so I'm sure stealing it is too. IDK, just a thought.

I would call the cops to file a complaint.
Not to scare you, but if they stole any credit card information you may have to worry about idenity theft.
This way you will have a report on file.

Also contact the credit agencies.
YOU NEVER KNOW!

We had our mailbox vandalized a couple of months ago, and we did call the cops, but there's nothing they could do. Unless the perp ripped our mailbox off and tried to assault us w/it, the police have no recourse. I would think, especially in your case since the box is completely GONE, there's even less they can do. BUT - that being said, it cannot hurt to have the incident on file.

Sorry this happened - I hope it's a random incident.Chat Icon

I agree- you can't be too careful.

We had a tree fall onto our deck a couple weeks ago- what a PITA! Good luck!
