First BFN after First IUI procedure...

AF arrived today - right on time. I've read that this is the hardest negative to get and boy is that true. But, as I've said before, reading all of your stories and seeing how strong all of you are just gives me the strength to move forward towards our next treatment with a POSITIVE outlook! Thank you.

Onto another clomid cycle...I believe I move onto injections after 3 clomid attempts, right?

Sorry for you BFN...never easy when AF rears her ugly face. As for injectables, it depends on what protocol you and your doctor worked out. Because of my age, we went right to IVF after three clomid cycles so as not to waste anytime.

I'm so sorry.

I was just saying to a friend that once you start IF treatments, it's basically the same cycle of ups and downs as when naturally TTC - only the ups are higher up and the downs are further down!

Hopefully next time will be "up" for you!

For us, we skipped right over Clomid (for insurance reasons - long.. in my blog if you care to read).

We planned on doing 2-3 injectables/IUI cycles before moving onto IVF - but plans changed when I produced too many follies in my second IUI cycle, so we coverted it to IVF.

Sorry about the BFN...... My RE (I never got to the IUI point but was very close to starting) Dr Rosenfeld said that the first IUI he views as a "TRIAL" (not his words but my words) to see what worked and what did not work.

You have the right to be sad, mad, etc....

so sorry- I never asked Braverman what happened if this IUI didn't work (still in the 2ww).... I would assume the next cycle we'd do the same? Not sure though... guess I'll find out later in the week...

.....I just had my first IUI on Saturday... and I know how hard it is going to be if I get a BFN.... for next cycle

I'm so sorry! I just had my 1st IUI's this week and know I'll be devastated if I get AF.

My dr told me that she'll do 2 rounds of Clomid and trigger B4 moving to injectables....but every dr is different.

Well, that just s*ucks!! I remember how hard that one was...thinking we had it all figured out now so why wouldn't it work? Here's to a new cycle with new hope!

so sorry about your bfn ive only had one iui so far and that was a really hard bfn
we didnt do clomid just injectibles so as the other girls said i guess it depends on your doctor and what they feel is best for you

so sorry, I just had my first IUI and can only imagine the hurt if I see a BFN!

I did 3 clomid cycles before going to injectables, some doc's will do 4 or 5 but I think 3 is less risky.

We've decided to try one more mth with clomid/IUI then onto injectables (if need be!). Here's to another mth. I actually decided to eat organic this month too - hahaha - I'm losin' it, I'll try anything!

I did 3 with clomid. My doc is willing to do 6 before moving on, but depends on docs protocol and your body. For me, he feels injectibles wouldn't be much different than the clomid. Anyway, I know the first BFN is so hard, hang in there and good luck to you!
