First IUI failed
Well, as much as I tried not to get my hopes up, I guess I did because I am devastated.
I got the call in the middle of my HR conference, so I excitedly left the room to answer and it was a BFN.
I was borderline hysterical, so I just left and told my boss a personal situation arose that I had to take care of.
This is so much harder than I expected.

Re: First IUI failed
I'm sorry Lauren. While I don't have confirmation on mine, it looks like mine failed as well. I'll be off to IVF.

Re: First IUI failed
Thanks everyone.
I think the most frustrating thing is that we (DH and I) just don't understand why this didn't work??
I mean, if you put 400,000 people in a small room containing a egg and you told them that their goal was to reach that egg, don't you think that at least ONE of them would make it there?
I can't believe we have to do this process all over again. I feel like I'm losing my mind. And I'm second guessing everything I've done, said and thought over the last two weeks. I know that's mot helping things, but it's just what I do.

Re: First IUI failed
I am so sorry for you...the first one is the hardest, you expect so much and are so let down. If it makes you feel better, statistically the odds are higher the more IUI's you have, up until 6...then it seems you should think about a move onto IVF. Many hugs and lot's of Baby Dust to you, it will happen.

Re: First IUI failed
First- Im so so sorry. I really am. Im devestated for you!
Second- keep in mind, PLEASE...that a 1st IUI working is RARE. If you have an y issues that make IUI needed, unfortunatly your chances of sucess are less then 20%. It sounds awful BUT it can work..look at Kathys new baby girl and Debs bun in the oven.
I will nto say its not devestating...It IS...and I wont even wish that you "get used to it". because sadly you do. I dont feel much of anything when AF shows after so many IUI's...but in a way its good.
You have to focus now on the next cycle , give yourself a few days and then let it go. You wont feel better for at least a few days, btu then the dissapoint will fade..I SWEAR it..IT will feel a little better then now....
YOu did nothing wrong, NOTHING...the timing unfortunatly again has to be so on the money perfect, theres nothing you did to cause it not to work...believe that!
Sending you a million hugs

Lauren....I completely agree with you, unfortunately that's the logical answer and this process is not logical. Actually...after my 4th IUI DH called the doctor and screamed at him on the phone because he didn't understand why it didn't work if we did everything they said to do. It's very frustrating and unfortunately, I know how you feel. I hope you can take the time you need to resolve your feelings with this, and move on to whatever the next step is for you.

Re: First IUI failed
I am so sorry. Take some time for yourself and relax. You and DH should do whatever you want for the next few weeks - sit on the couch, take mini-getaway and keep planning the dreams you want for each other and your future family. It will happen.....

Re: First IUI failed
Thank you everyone. I'm honestly moved to tears by all your support and good wishes.
I appreciate you girls so much.
Someone asked what the doctor said - just that the results were negative and they want me to start the same protocol for this next cycle (Metformin, Clomid, HcG shot).
Hoping round two works!!

The freakin sperm were injected into the freakin egg and they fertilized beautifully and 2 were put back and NOTHING happened ...... TWICE!!!!! So even if his guys stopped to ask for directions and found the egg there are still variables that can get you to that awful BFN.
I hope you never have to go through this again.
