Re: first day of daycare tomorrow...what am i missing?
preggo crashing...
I am a daycare provider and the first few weeks are always hardest on the mommies. If you choose a good daycare provider they are pro's at handling babies. If I were you I would label everything you bring especially bottles &formula, since so many children are on the same bottles. If you are sending pacifiers put them in a case you can label, and I really love when moms attach the binkys to the clip. I would also bring at least two extra set of clothes since if he does spit up a lot or has a very messy diaper they can change him often. I am nuerotic about changing babies, I wouldn't want my future baby to lay in their own spit up all day. I would also pack a sweat shirt or heavy pj in case he gets cold during the day. We provide zip lock bags but I know some places don't so many a few zip locks for dirty items, if they aren't provided.
At 11 weeks old you ds prob. won't have any separation anxiety but you surely will. I know a lot of parent's bring their babies bib or burp cloth to work. The first few weeks give a call during the day to see how ds is doing. It will help you rest assured that he is being taken care of.

extra clothes - easiest if they're feety outfits. then you don't have to worry about socks!
and BIBS. My babysitter doesn't really use the burp cloth i send for DS, but sometimes goes through 3 bibs/day. He's a drooler!
She likes when I send cotton mittens - sometimes his hands are cold during the day (but the rest of his body is warm).

Re: first day of daycare tomorrow...what am i missing?
and as a "daycare mommy", i just wanted to tell you that its a little rough the first few days. I didn't cry - to this day, I'm amazed I didn't cry - but I was close.
I take many pics on my cell and scroll through them at my desk all day. I keep a pacifier in my purse - every time I go in it for my chapstick, I see it and smile
For Christmas, DH bought me a digital pic frame for my desk at work. SUCH a great idea! I haven't loaded it yet, but I will soon. (as soon as I can find it behund all the baby toys under the tree )

Re: first day of daycare tomorrow...what am i missing?
aww Diana I'm in the same boat...we start tomorrow as well. I gave her a little preview last week I have TOTAL confidence in the place I chose...I know she'll be fine, she probably won't sleep and she may be a smidge miserable...but I know I'll be missing her sooooooooooooo much. My heart is breaking that I can't be with her all day.
Thanks for posting this- it helps sooo much to get my head around the prep for tomorrow!
Good luck!
