Re: first few months?
Well we are having a baby nurse come here so he will be in the crib and the baby nurse will sleep in the bed in his room. After she leaves (2 weeks) I may put him in a bassinett in our room depending upon how he reacts to sleeping in a crib.

Re: first few months?
We are planning to use a bassinet for the first few months. I think that it just makes it easier then having to get out of bed every two hours and walk to another room. Plus I will probably be a paranoid freak and want the baby near me 24/7.

Re: first few months?
We are putting the baby in her crib from the beginning. Our room is very close to her room, so its not a big deal to get up and take care of her. Plus, I'd rather not have to deal with transitioning her to her crib in a few months!

We will have our baby in their crib from the beginning. Our bedroom is just down the hall from the nursery and we will have a baby monitor to keep an eye and ear on him/her.

Re: first few months?
We are going to have the baby start in the crib from the beginning.
We live in an old tudor style house and right now our room and the baby's room are connected by an open doorway. (at some point we will close off the 2 rooms). For now, it's almost like one huge room and it's not that big a deal to walk over to where the crib is!

Re: first few months?
Bassinet in our room first. My grandfather made a bassinet when my mom was little and they used that for her and my aunts and uncles and then me and my brother and some of my cousins used it...now I will get to use it for my baby.

Re: first few months?
I'm going to get a bassinet. Even though I am 9 wks, my doc said I am going to have a C-section (odd medical condition). Our house is a tri-level. Our master suite is on the third floor and the baby's room is going to be on the second floor - a hallway and 7 steps away. Knowing I will probably have a tough time - I think the bassinet will be helpful.
