First Foods
I haven't been on this site for ages... and I almost feel like a traitor - but we've been SO busy! I need some advice please! Liam has been on baby food since 6 months. He'll be 8 on the 9th. He's tried pretty much all the Stage 2 Gerbers. When did you move on to more "solid" food/finger foods?
Thanks :)

Re: First Foods
My girls are almost 8.5 months, and we just started the chunky foods stage 3 meals. I started giving them puffs a couple of weeks ago, and they still don't get it, as long as I place them in their mouths.
I bought cheese and eggs yesterday to try this week. They have also had pastina.

Re: First Foods
At 7 months they had Puffs, Zwieback and Cheerios, and at 8 months I tried cottage cheese, pieces of chicken, toast with cream cheese, pieces of cheese and on to avocado. At 9 months I'm going to give them the same meat we eat. That jarred stuff smells so nasty!

Re: First Foods
I am so clueless... My daughter is 7 months old and she has no teeth. Can you start them on a more solid food without any teeth ? Like let's say cheerios or teething biscuits ??? I think I have heard babies can gum some food but I have been way to scared to try.

My DDs don't have teeth either - see above for what they've been eating. I break everything up pretty small.

Re: First Foods
Ok my DS is 13 months and I am still giving him stage 2's. He hates the texture of the stage 3's and I'm really not crazy about the smell. The chicken noodle stage 3's are actually not that bad. But I still give him the stage 2's.
He's had chicken nuggets. I take the outer crunchy part off and give him the meat chopped into tiny (and I do mean tiny) pieces because I am so petrified of him choking or gagging.
He eats puffs and cheerios.
He eats pasta. The kinds he's had are (minesrone-the small tubes, alphabet, orzo, pastina, spaghetti (cut into pieces) When giving him pasta we mix it up one day it's with sauce another it's a soup with vegetables.
Oh and he also eats a whole banana almost every night. He loves those. He'll also munch on some table food stuff that I give him from my plate.

There is a little girl at my DS's daycare who is just over 1yr. and still has no teeth... she eats steak! She's talented!!!

Re: First Foods
DS is 11 months old and he still eats Stage 2 jars but he also eats a lot of different table foods too. He likes waffles, eggs, chicken, rice, veggies, pasta, etc.
