First OB appointment tomorrow...what to expect??
It's been two weeks since my RE last saw me.
I'll be 10w4d tomorrow and seeing my new OB for the first time.
In your experience:
Will they do an ultrasound?
Should DH come?
TIA!

I would bring DH just in case.
mine did an ultrasound- so they might do one- although every OB is different.
They will also probably go over the dos & don'ts.

Try to bring DH whenever he can. It really helps him feel involved. My DH would even have questions here and there and he liked being able to speak with the doctor directly. If it's your first visit, I think they most likely will do a sono. It's an awesome feeling getting to see what's in there. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Re: First OB appointment tomorrow...what to expect??
Thanks!
I'm used to having ultrasounds every week, so I've been a bit freaked that I didn't get to see him/her last week!
I also didn't know if that meant that they WOULDN'T do one, since I've already had 4 or 5.
I'm so nervous something's going to be wrong.

every office is different but when i had used an RE and then got released to go to my regular OB they did another one so they could have seen for themselves what was going on - so u may can to see your little peanut again!
ETA - a doppler can definately help u relax between visits - it was the only thing that helps me sleep at night!!! so i would order one - usually they work at around 12 weeks.

Re: First OB appointment tomorrow...what to expect??
I am not 10w yet, so I am not sure exactly what they do, but if DH has never witnessed an internal/pelvic exam & you are getting one...warn him! My poor DH was like...What the heck are the shoehorns for? Poor guy never knew what hit him

Re: First OB appointment tomorrow...what to expect??
Yeah Lauren
I went to my first OB appointment (after the RE) at 11 weeks. He took some blood, and sat down with DH and I and went over things. He explained that even though it took me a while to get to that point, he didn't see any reason that I wouldn't have a normal pregnancy. He did a mini sono in the office. Good luck!!!!

Re: First OB appointment tomorrow...what to expect??
Every OB is different, but mine did an internal sono at my first appointment and continued to do them every other week during my first trimester (this was mainly because I'd miscarried at 13 wks prior to this pregnancy and they were overly cautious with me)
By 12 weeks, you will be able to see your bean with a regular sono
And I second the doppler recommendation - it was my lifesavor in between appointments and once the sonos ended, it gave me the reassurance I needed to know that my Peanut was ok
GOOD LUCK!

Re: First OB appointment tomorrow...what to expect??
Thanks again, girls.
I'm not sure I'm going to get much sleep tonight!!
I'm sooo nervous and I just want to know everything is okay.
And I'm all about the Doppler as soon as I hit 12 weeks!!
I know DH will but it will keep me calm.
