First response fertility test ???
Hey Ladies:
I have a feeling I am out again. I am just wondering if anyone has used this test? I have a feeling something is wrong. I am 32 years old and feel that maybe there is a problem. Anyway has anyone used this test? I am making GYN appointment for January, usually I go every February but I am feeling very depressed with this TTC torture. Every month I have massive crying fits.

First
Second, how long have you been trying? If you are under 35 then you are supposed to wait a year of "trying" before contacting your Dr.
I never tried that test, I am only on our 3rd month of trying. I feel that if I did try it and it told me "not fertile" I would be
To answer your question about a Luteal Phase defect, that is from when the time you ovulate till the day you get your period. An "average" Luteal Phase ("LP") is 14 days but like everything is varies- however an LP or 10 days or shorter is supposed to be a cause for concern.
Good Luck

Re: First response fertility test ???
We have been trying for 6 months, so I guess I should not panic. But I do have some pain when ovulating that I do not remember having pre BC. I have been on BC "on and off" for fifteen years. Been off BC now for 18 months. My LP seems to be approximately 12 days. Thanks for being supportive. Susanne

Re: First response fertility test ???
Honestly, you should just wait for your OB appt and speak to the dr. Why waste the $ when a dr can tell you things for sure?

Re: First response fertility test ???
I would just go to your OB/GYN and ask them to give you a bloodtest. I got a bloodtest done a couple of years ago so that they could analyze my hormones and stuff. You should probably do that and see whats really going on. Good luck!

Re: First response fertility test ???
Get your hormone levels actually drawn by your GYN.
If your hormone levels are abnormal: you will go to your GYN to get the test repeated, correct?
If your levels are normal and you have been trying for a while: you will get your hormone levels drawn by your GYN.
Either way... unless you get pregnant in the next few months (and it is tough to get neg after neg result... I know this well), you will have your levels drawn and lab tested. Keep in mind, you shouldn't be worrying until at least 6mo- 1yr of trying with OPKs. 25% of couples get preg in 1 mo., 60% in 6 mo, and 80% in 1 yr.
And 32 is not old.

Re: First response fertility test ???
OK I will make appointment for January. I tested this morning with Early HPT and got another BFN. It's so depressing, plus looks like I will have my period on vacation in February. I haven't gone the whole mucinex route yet. This month just did OPK and leg elevation plus baby aspirin. I am also considering acupuncture. I will def ask Doctor to check levels due for pap in feb anyway.
