First time baby gettin sick and has a fever I'm nervous
So my baby boy is 7 months old checked his temp and it's 102.9 gave him acetminophen called on call dr which suggested to give pain relief every 4 hours and increase fluid intake he said go ahead and give water or juices, pedialyte or even gatorade.. I'm heading to store now while hubby watches baby. The dr said it could be a virus since there is a lot of them going around but , I think it's his teething... Anyway... Going to the pharmacy is there anything that you ladies would recommend??? I don't want to get him sugary juices bc of all that sugar he doesn't need the sugar what should I buy??? Please respond quickly! Tia !!!

I don't think it's teething. They usually don't get high fevers from teething. His body is trying to fight off something.
I'd go with pedialyte. Is there a chance he could have cox sackie? Is he drinking a bottle, stopping & crying?
Most important thing you can do is keep him hydrated & comfortable.
Also be prepared that his fever may go up at night.
Cold washclothes also help.
As long as you're going to the pharmacy, maybe pick up thermometer stickers. That was you can read his temp without bugging him.

Your right it's probably not teething .. :( he had a bottle this morning and was fine with it. And a couple ounces at 1130 with his cereal and fruit. I will try the pedialyte. What about cool baths?

A bath is a great way to bring down a fever. Just make sure the water lukewarm, not cool.

Easier said than done, but try not to worry too much about the temp. I freaked out every time DD has gotten a temp, and recently she had "fever virus" and her temps were close to 105. But it means their body is fighting something off, which is a good thing. I give DD tylenol if she seems uncomfortable. Luke warm baths are good as well, but DD comes out shivering. Also, don't overdress him. You want to keep him dressed in light, loose clothing.

Re: First time baby gettin sick and has a fever I'm nervous
DS2 has a fever virus right now. His temp went as high as 104.8. Nurse suggested tylenol (call if you are unsure about the dose I was giving him 1/2 of what he could have and it wasnt helping much) and we gave him a warm bath and it dropped down to 102 which for me was managable - 104 was scary!
DS isnt eating but is drinking water, seriously watered down apple juice and sometimes milk. as long as they are having wet diapers they are taking enough fluids.
DS it started Friday and I think(hope) we are at the end now. He doenst seem to be going up this morning the way he did the last 2.
GL!
