First time voter with a poll machine question
Are the machines complicated? I don't want to look like a fool tomorrow not knowing how to use them

Re: First time voter with a poll machine question
It CAN be a little overwhelming the first time...so f you're nervous, you can just ask someone at your polling site to explain things a little

Re: First time voter with a poll machine question
no its easy. you just pull the lever to close the curtain and make your vote.
I struggle with all the "other" votes. I never know who anyone is!!

Re: First time voter with a poll machine question
Just ask someone to show you how to do things. The first time I voted, there was someone there to show me what to do. First move the big lever once to the left to close the curtain. Then you just flick the little levers down for your choice. When you are done, you put the big lever back to where it was when you stepped in, so the curtain is open.
Don't do what my dad did the first time he voted! He moved the big lever both ways without voting. Then he had to go to Jamaica for someone to reset his vote or something.

Re: First time voter with a poll machine question
You just close the curtain and then flip the switches for who you want. It's just like flipping a switch in a fuse box. Easy, easy! but there are tons of lines....many probably for positions you may not be aware of.

Re: First time voter with a poll machine question
Here in Maryland we'll be using the new e-voting machines. They're touch screens. Can you say it's gonna be a cluster eff?
