first trimester and friends social events-update
Just wondering how everyone managed their first trimester fatigue, morning sickness and host of other issues with friends birthdays etc did you still go? Or did you pass and get your rest?
I hope it doesn't seem like a silly question ....i've just been so tired. I'm in bed before 10 every night. I went out with Dh for a friends bday and had to leave by 12 because I was so tired! I have another friend that wants to go to the club tomorrow night for her bday!
I don't want to pull the pregnancy card but i'm legitimately tired all the time these days. And being around people drinking and dancing when I'm tired just doesn't sound like fun. Just don't want to seem like i'm not a good friend when I don't go out but things are changing ...i'll gladly meet for dinner but nothing after 9 lol! Clubbing is not on my mind these days...
Update: well I was BEYOND EXHAUSTED yesterday and didn't go out. I sent a message that I was tired and couldn't go...I never heard back from her so I assume she's mad at me!
I guess she just doesn't understand that at 11 weeks pregnant i'm too tired to go out clubbing! When I first told her the news she said to me she was afraid our friendship would change! I said it wouldn't but I thought she would ne more understanding that I just can't do everything like before!

I wouldnt feel bad about it, your friends will understand (if they dont know about it yet, theyll put two and two together when you tell them the news) I was supposed to go to the beer garden tonight but i feel pretty crummy and i dont really care what ppl think! (But they know im pg). Honestly, clubbing shouldnt be on your mind right now! Youre growing a human!

Re: first trimester and friends social events
I couldn't imagine going out to clubs pregnant right now, especially in the 1st trimester! The 1st trimester is horrible! If you don't feel up to it, skip it, do what makes you feel good...also, as a BTDT, the 2nd trimester is much better than the 1st!!
ETA: With my 1st pregnancy, I stayed home pretty much day & night for the first 3 months!

I completely understand. The first few weeks all I wanted to do was stay in bed and sleep. I was sooooo tired. I would come home from work around 5:30 take a hour or 2 nap and then be back in bed by 10 and not wakw up until the next morning. DH swears its nature's way of slowing me down cause I am always on the go. I could not even imagine being in a club cause all I would be able to think about is my bed. lol.

Re: first trimester and friends social events
Forget about just the first trimester. I'm in my 2nd trimester and I passed on going to a wine and cheese bar tonight with my friends. Prior to pregnancy I would have loved doing that, but now I can't eat any soft cheeses, can't have wine, what would I do there? I know it's pathetic but I'd rather chill at home with my husband. My friends seem to understand...
Oh and I could never go clubbing, I don't blame you at all

Clubbing sounds like so much work! Lol
i dont blame you i could never have done a club in my 1st trimeste or any trimester for that matter. I cant stand being around drunken people when im sober. And the smell of alcohol made me sooo nauseas!
Dont feel guilty about it

Re: first trimester and friends social events-update
You should be feeling better soon. Second trimester usually you start feeling really good and I have to say in general my energy returned to normal. The only thing is now with the heat I'm a bit tired again. Your friendship with change but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. I've been friends with people with children long before we got pg.

Even if she is mad, she'll get over it. Take care of yourself! For the first trimester and beginning of the second, I was always exhausted. I've been getting much better now. but honestly, going out to clubs when you're pregnant just isnt fun! Maybe you can try to explain that to your friend and see if you guys can just do dinner instead some night.
