First ultrasound this morning!! UPDATE-BACK FROM SONO-not sure how to take it...
In 45 minutes, it's been a long couple week until this! I am 8 weeks 2 days, can't wait to see the little bean. DH is coming to get me though, the snow is really bad here in Maine.
ETA: Back, a little bummed. Im supposed to be 8 weeks 2 days. I know exactly when i O'd. Im measuring a full week behind but they saw the little flicker of the heartbeat. I have another ultrasound in 3 weeks. She was so wuick with the ultrasound, my doc wasn't there sp it was his assistant. Anyway, here is a pic from the ultrasound, only one she gave me. Im not sure if meauring behind is good or bad. The heartbeat was there but didn't seem very strong...

How exciting! I cant wait to see mine on the 31st.
I actually think I remember us being "O" twins on the TTC board (dont ask how I remember these things ) and my calculations put me at 7w5d (O'ed on 12/12) so maybe your calculations were off a little. I hate that I have to wait until 1/31 to find out how accurate I am.
Either way, congrats on seeing the heartbeat!

i woudlnt worry about measuring behind, maybe the calculations were off. just focus on the little bean being healthy

If theres a HB thats awesome! My dr told me once you see it your chance of MC is wayyy lower...how do you know for sure when you O'd? could also be a late implanter...what day did you think U o'd?

I measured a week behind what I thought I should have been also. When I went for my 12 week sono the tech estimated my due date to be 5 days sooner than my first couple of sono's showed, which would put me pretty much on track for when I thought I O'd.
My doctor is going to see what my 20 week sono shows and if I still measure ahead he'll change my due date.
Don't be discouraged, my doctor said a sono can be off by 5 days in either direction.
I'm almost 18 weeks and everything is going well.

congrats on seeing the hb! maybe you were a late implanter or the sono was off a little.
i was a little disappointed too at my first sono - i thought i would be 7w2d and i measured 7w0d so they calculated my due date based on 7w0d. did your doctor change your due date or are they waiting for your next sono? I'm assuming I was either a late implanter or the sono was a little off - otherwise I got pregnant from BD once 4 days before O!
i'm  that my next sono is OK (it wont be until 12w0d) and I'm curious to see if I measure closer to where I had thought I'd be, right on track with my first sono, etc..
Also, did they tell you what the heartrate was? what makes you think it was weak?

Keep in mind that it can differ depending on who does the ultrasound! If they measure a tiny bit less or more that changes the due date. If the dr. didn't seem worried I wouldn't be :) Its exciting to see the heartbeat right!

I know it can be upsetting but at least you saw the heartbeat. I think it they were really concerned they would have you come back sooner to do another sono.

personally, if i was measuring a week behind and i knew EXACTLY when i ovulated, i would absolutely insist that i come back the next week for a sono. a lot can change in a week and a lot can change based on who is doing the sono. so why have to wait and worry for 3 weeks???

I wouldn't be too concerned. This early on it is very difficult to get accurate measurements. Just remember at 8 weeks your LO is still only the size of a kidney bean! That's tiny!! Hang in there.
If you are overly concerned I would give the doc a call and see if they will see you again sooner to check on everything.

yesterday at the hospital, i measured 8w3d and I thought i was 9w2d. And the tech said it would be no prob.

ITA--don't stress about it. Maybe you can have your doc see you in 2-3 weeks to check again. But like pp said, its SO SMALL right now that measuring a millimeter less can be a week's difference!
Your LO is healthy and that's what matters at this point.

Im wondering what your heart rate was? On Monday i was 11wks 3days & the U/S measured me at 11wks 5days so they arent always correct in either direction. If you have a heartbeat thats good. Focus on resting & keeping your feet up for now.

ITA. For my first two sonos I measured 2 days and 1 day behind, and then at my 12 week sono, when I was 12w3d, I measured 13w1d. My new dr. said this was basically impossible, and likely a sono tech error. As long as you saw the HB, try not to stress.
