First Work Trip
Since having almost 5mo DS. Totally stinks! I'm still on maternity leave but need to take a couple of training courses. I'll also be gone a week in February and my first week when I return for good in March (additional trips later in the year). Drop off at the airport with DH and 2 1/2 yo DD was awful yesterday. So many tears for both of us. 
I'm sitting in a hotel room, lonely and missing my kids and DH like crazy. I love my job but it requires a lot of travel and I'm wondering how I'm going to make it work. Feeling disconnected.
Thanks for listening and letting me vent.

I would get some food that is not good for you, watch something on tv that would turn my brain to mush and catch up on sleep.

Traveling for work sucks - I know the feeling. But Ive learned it makes your time with family that much sweeter. I still remember my first overnight (was suppose to be day trip but flight got cancelled) - I was sooo miserable. It gets a lil easier each time. Take the chance to waych some tv, eat some yummy food and Facetime is the best in these situations!
Hang in there - soon enough you will be back with them!
Side note, I get my ds a souvenir everytime I stay overnight now :)

Traveling for work is tough when you have kids, but try to focus on the positives...like the full night's sleep you can get! Or eating a great dinner without interruptions.

I'm at the airport now actually about to go away for two nights. I travel a few times a month. It's tough, I miss my little guy and DH but but there are some positives too. Time to yourself, quiet dinner and breakfast with two hands, adult interaction :) Try to enjoy it!

My mom traveled a lot for work when I was little. I obviously don't remember when I was very young but looking back on what I remember I had a great time with my dad and she always brought back a treat from the trip which was totally worth it to me!
