First years newborn to toddler tub...
For those that have this tub, when did you stop using the newborn sling? DS is a little over 2 months and 12.5lbs. He still fits in the sling but he fits better without it. The problem is without the sling he can sometimes rolls to the side a bit. Just wondering when you stop using it. TIA

We've never used the sling. James is 12.5 pounds also and does just fine sitting in the tub itself
(and yeah, I got over my fear of bathing him )

Re: First years newborn to toddler tub...
DD is 8 weeks and only about 10lbs, I stopped using the sling this week. I think she fits better and enjoys sitting in the water. I laugh because when I first put her in she doesn't bend her legs, she just sticks them out. She does slide a little left to right but its fine and easier I think.

DS is 10 weeks and we still are using the sling - he's almost 11 lbs. I hadn't even thought about taking it out - guess we could. He looks so comfy though and kind of dangles his foot over the side. We were so glad he likes the water.

If you don't use the sling and they can't support themselves yet you put them on the "infant" side. It's reclined for babies.......they really can't go anywhere. By 2 months (I think even before that) we were done with the sling.

Re: First years newborn to toddler tub...
I think I used it twice He actually liked the bath better without the sling because he was in the water more and stayed warmer.

I was just thinking this the other day that I should stop using the sling. DD is 3 months. Maybe the next bath i'll try it.

Re: First years newborn to toddler tub...
I was just thinking this tonight while DH & I bathed him. He is 10 weeks today & 13lbs, sits up unassisted with no problem but I find the sling so helpful to keeping him in one spot. I think I am going to try the next bath without it & see how it goes

Re: First years newborn to toddler tub...
DS is 15 weeks and 12 pounds and I just tried the tub without the sling last week. He was squirming all over the place so I had to keep one hand on him to make sure he didn't slip under the water and try to bathe him with the other hand. I went back to the sling. He still seems comfortable in it and it makes it much easier.
