Fisher-Price Papasan Cradle Swing (Natures Touch) Would you recommend??

We need to get a new swing for our next DC due in July. I was reading reviews online about this swing and almost all of them are positive, except for a few that are talking about problems with the motor. They're saying that they've seen sparks or smoke coming from the motor, and even one person said a fire started. Does anyone know anything more about this?? Are these people exaggerating, because this is a top rated swing, you would think they'd pull it right off the shelves if this was truly a problem. I just don't know what to think. Can anyone weigh in??

I would recommend it. Both M&J loved it. I never had any issues with the motor other than it dying on an older model someone gave us.

I wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for that swing. Lily used it for the first 8 months of her life on a daily basis and we never had a problem with it.
It *might* be made of magic...that's how great it is.

And there's absolutely no way magic can catch on fire right?! Chat Icon

Never!

I mean, I guess anything with a motor can catch on fire....but the chance is pretty slim.
My husband's seat in his car caught on fire when he was driving one day because of the motor that moves it forward and backward....but that's not really all that common, I don't think.

And, it's not like you're going to plop the kid in the swing and then go out shopping. You'll likely be right there whenever the swing is in use.

I'd get it. It's seriously amazing.
