Fit Bit- Treadmill - elliptical, DVD workout
Will it work with all of these workouts? I do not have one but am contemplating getting one. Are they worth it to get you motivated? Are they different or more effective than a step counting app on your phone? At this time of year I would be mostly using the treadmill or elliptical.

It definitely works with the treadmill. I'm not sure about the others. I have the small, clip on fitbit and it doesn't always count shorter groups of steps so I'm not sure how it would do with the DVD workouts.

It only works if you don't hold on. I have to use the elliptical with the arms.

Thanks..I use the arms on the elliptical too as I feel like my arms are getting a workout that way - probably wrong right

Dont mean to hijack the post but along the same lines...does it work while pushing a stroller? I've been debating about getting one but a lot of my walking is with a stroller and I'd hate for it to be useless in counting steps since I'm not moving my arms etc.

No, but when I push my stroller I try to only push with one arm lOl

Seriously, I used to put it on my ankle if my arm wasn't free.
