fixing lawn after removing tree q

seeing if there are any lawn experts out there... we had a large tree removed in our backyard and the stump was grinded. now we have a pile of woodchips sitting where the tree was. In order for me to restore my lawn what do you think is the best course of action? Removing the wood chips, putting down soil and seeds? Not sure if there's anything else i'm missing or should do?

We just did this and removed the wood chips and had to fill in with soil and then seed.

we're in the same boat, but haven't done anything to it yet.

how would you get all the wood chips out from there?

You definitely need to get rid of as much of the woodchips as possible. I had a couple of stumps ground, and while I didn't put grass over it, the one area where the stump used to be sank a couple of inches as the chips rotted. It will be very noticeable in a couple of years.

WE just took down 11 trees. We had the landscaper come and dig out all the chips, fill the holes with soil and seed.

If you don't remove the wood chips you will have sink holes and terrible huge mushrooms as they decompose. It's a hassle but definitely a must. THey only fill them with the wood chips for liability purposes - so nobody falls in the hole.

GOod luck!
