Re: Flax seed?

it doesn't taste like anything - as a matter of fact i just bought a box of milled flax seed to add to my food to make things a little easier to pass and added bonus... it has much Omega-3 in it!

That exactly why I want to add it to some of DS food, I read that it is a great source of Omega 3

Re: Flax seed?

yes it is.... but it is SUPER HIGH FIBER.... i would discuss it with your ped b4 you do it so that you know how much is the right amount to add to his diet.

Re: Flax seed?

I've added it to their food since they've been on solid foods.

When they were on a yogurt based lunch... it was plain yogurt, mixed with fruit and veg (two separate batches) and I always added a bit of ground flax seed and wheat germ.

Now when I make pancakes or muffins I add it.

If there is a recipe that calls for bread crumbs, I'll decrease the breadcrumbs and add flax seed or wheat germ.

You can get ground flax seed at Trader Joe's, Fairway, health food stores. Once opened it should be refrigerated.
