Flea in the house, but not on pet
I feel like I risk sounding like a dirty bugger, but I have a sneaking suspicion I got a glimpse of a flea this morning in my house, but when I check my cat for fleas and flea dirt, his skin is lovely and clean.
Ugh, I have flea treated him again, but is this possible? Help! Its my worst fear having fleas!!

Re: Flea in the house, but not on pet
If you have a cat, even if they stay inside, they can get fleas. I would use a monthly product on your cat, such as Frontline, to eliminate this possibility. Doesn't mean you are dirty. Anyone can get fleas esp if they own pets! If you use a monthly product like Frontline you won't ever get an infestation of fleas.
Growing up we had fleas and it was an awful experience. Took a year or two to get rid of them. So now, I use Frontline on my dogs every month year round, no matter how cold out. As much as I hate putting those chemicals on my dogs, I can't risk getting a flea infestation. Fleas carry so many diseases. And my dog had picked up fleas in my old neighborhood two times, and I saw them on him IN MY HOME. And I never got an infestation ever. I know if I hadn't been using Frontline, I would have had a big big flea problem in my home.
So I would call the vet and get some frontline or similar product asap. THey may suggest some other things as well. Just b/c you don't see fleas on your cat doesn't mean they aren't jumping on or off your cat. We NEVER saw fleas in our home growing up yet my poor mother was being eaten alive (not even my cats). So they can still be there.
