Flu Shot?

Does anyone know if getting the flu shot passes the immunity onto the baby---I know they say that the baby has your immune system for awhile..

I was planning on getting the shot after the baby is born, but was wondering if I should do it now. I forgot to ask at my appt yesterday.

Re: Flu Shot?

If you get the flu shot at least a month before you deliver, it's supposed to help make the baby immune to that particular strand of flu.

I believe there are studies that show if you get it the last trimester that it is supposed to pass antibodies onto the baby.

Re: Flu Shot?

I asked my OB about it and she said i can get it but she has done her own research and found that there has been traces of mercury found in the shot,so i choose not to get it.

Re: Flu Shot?

My OB highly recommends getting the flu shot as long as you're in your second or third trimester.
