Flu shot question

My sweet sweet little guy is getting his 6 month shots tomorrow. The peds office is starting flu shots for babies over 6 months. Devin already has to have three shots tomorrow, plus the oral rotavirus vaccine. Can anyone please give me advice on the flu shot, and if we should add that to his ordeal tomorrow? Anyone else have this dilemma or advice for or against the flu shot? Please help.... shot days are always horrible for me, and I dread them every time they approach.... Will one more shot really make a difference?????Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Flu shot question

I don't think one more shot would make a difference, and the flu shot is very important shot to get for babies/toddlers. I guess you can wait till next month if you wanted to.

Re: Flu shot question

I have not give my DD the flu shot yet and she is 20mths. But if it were me I would hold off for another month as she is already getting shots tomorrow - I just think their systems and bodies are so small at this stage.

Re: Flu shot question

My DD got her flu shot a few Weeks ago. She also got 2 other shots. To be honest I wanted to run out of the room after the 1st one.Chat Icon Thank Goodness DH was holding her. She had a slight fever the next day. I would be a little nervous too. I guess if your ped says its OK, I'd do it just to get it over with. Its so hard to watch them get them Chat Icon

Was she crankier than normal? Fussing a lot? 4 month shots were TERRIBLE, but he had also woke up that morning with his first cold which I assume could have been more the cold than the shots? Sound right?

I've been pretty lucky with all her shots. Once I walk out of the doctors office she is back to her normal happy self. Even with a fever the next day she was still happy. If I had to guess I would say the cold probably made him fussier.

I really hope that the cold was the culprit last time. It was a day from h***. My poor little guy, I just hate these days even though they are necessary.
