Fluid in ear?

I get ear infections a lot but this is new to me. I feel like it may just be fluid in my ear. It hurts but when I lay on my right side (right ear is bothering me) it feels better..I feel like fluid comes out and that's why.

I'm going to call my dr. to see if I can get an appt. today but do you think I should try to see an ENT? I don't have one...not sure if I could get in today...if it's fluid or wax would my regular doctor be able to take care of that in office or only an ENT would? I've been on antiobiotics for other things recently and really don't want to do it again if I don't have to..I feel like my regular dr. would be more prone to give me antibiotics and maybe an ENT could take care of it if it's not an infection??

Re: Fluid in ear?

I have had this, it is a pain in the @#$%$%^! . Go right to the ENT. I see Dr. Warman or Dr. Nesseri. There are a few offices, the one I go to is in levittown. I know they have offices in babylon, Flushing, Massapequa, etc. I ended up having an infection/ and or wax. They took out the wax, and if there was an infection I got an Rx for it. they also gave me a cream to put in my ear for when it gets wet. HTH feel better.Chat Icon

Call them anyway, sometimes those books are out of date. Ask them if they accept it.
