Flying 101...Can I bring drinks in my carry on?
I haven't flown since 2004 and really haven't paid any attention to the new flying rules because I didn't want to think I was ever going to fly again
Well now I am in 2 weeks and have no idea what I can pack and can't.
Any help? TIA

Check the TSA.gov website for the particulars.
In general, each person is allowed one quart sized bag of 3oz liquids in their carry on. Adults can't bring beverages through security but can purchase them afterwards in the terminal.
There are allowances for bringing drinks in for kids but I am not familar with them.

I flew BA last month at JFK and they did not check for liquids.

Any liquids in your carry on have to be 3 oz or less (if I remember correctly from the PSA playing constantly at JFK last weekend).
You can buy drinks once you've gone through the checkpoint though.

You can only bring 3 oz of liquids in a see through plastic bag through security. You can buy water, juice, ect once through security at inflated prices

Re: Flying 101...Can I bring drinks in my carry on?
I have gotten through with water in LA and NY. If you want to save money bring an empty water bottle on the plane and ask them to fill it up when you get on the plane, this is what I do. It is highway robbery for drinks after security at the airport.

Re: Flying 101...Can I bring drinks in my carry on?
It has to be less than 3oz and it HAS to be in a plastic bag. I flew from chicago and they wanted to confiscate my lip gloss because it was in not in a bag. I figured since it was the only thing it and it was clearly smaller than the size allowed it would be ok, but I got in trouble.
They can actually see drink bottles in the xray machine and I accidnetally had aleft a water bottle in mine and was forced to take it out. This was in July.
No drinks, jsut what you can buy at the airport once you're through security

Re: Flying 101...Can I bring drinks in my carry on?
Also, if there is only like 2 oz left in an 8 oz bottle, be careful. I have flown a ton and never had an issue, but when I went to Atlanta a couple of weeks ago they took away my lotion ($$) because it was an 8 oz bottle (they didn't care that there was only a little left.)
I was SOO mad.
You can bring a drink for your baby and toddler and not have a problem...
