Flying JEt Blue two adults two children - baggage - ANOTHER QUESTION -- BIRTH CERTS??
we need to bring kids booster seats. will they be considered luggage?
we plan on one big bag and one carry-on and one back pack.
will we have to pay extra for anything?
do the kids count as regular passengers and can be alotted the same bags as adults?
DH called Jet blue and they recommended bring birth certificates for the kids. why???

The car seats will NOT be considered part of your luggage. And the kids, if you are paying for their seats, will be allowed 1 bag each. So you would be able to have 4 checked bags. This is how we usually do it. We pay for 3 seats. I pack one big suitcase for me and both DS. DH packs a medium bag for himself and brings his golf bag. Then we both have carry ons and older DS has his own small backpack carry on. We also have a carseat, booster seat and stroller that we gate check.

The only way you would have to pay extra is if your checked bag weighs over 50 lbs. If you think it may, I'd check two bags.

Re: Flying JEt Blue two adults two children - baggage
As long as they have a seat they get the same baggage allowance. A backpack depending on the size might not be seen as carry on - but as your personal item (when we flew they considered our diaper bags as personal items - like a purse, briefcase).
Yes you can check one car seat and one stroller per child - so you shouldn't have any trouble with the boosters - but they won't let you bring them onto the plane. I would gate check them.

As far as Birth certs - I think they always recommend you have a copy JUST in case there are any issues. We brought copies with us and were near asked to see them. We flew Jet Blue out of JFK to MCO.
