Flying on a plane

When are we supposed to stop flying? My mom wants me to go to Florida in August, but I'll be about 33 weeks.

Re: Flying on a plane

Check with your Doc. I'm not sure if the airline also has a rule, but if you're doing well and the Doc gives you the ok then you should be fine.

Re: Flying on a plane

I think most airlines will say no flying after 27 weeks and most cruise lines no cruising after 24 weeks.Link to different airlines policies for pregnant passengers

Well continental will let you fly until a week before your due date with a current doctor's note - so you can fly if your obgyn gives you the ok.

My cousin was either 32 or 33 weeks pregnant when I got married and her doctor ok'd her to fly from Cali to NY for my wedding. I literally cried when I saw her at the church that day!

Re: Flying on a plane

Definately check with your OB...I am flying at 26w & was told I could fly up until 33w but it all depends on your pregnancy.

Re: Flying on a plane

My doctor was fine with it up until the last month.

I flew at 34 or 35 weeks and I was miserable-swelling, nauseous, too big to get comfortable, the person in front of me kept their seat back the entire time and I wanted to scratch her eyes out (even on landing and take off which you are no supposed to do!) so from my own experience I wouldn't recommend it past the 33 week mark.

Check with your doctor. I flew at 29 and 30 weeks. But my doctor said that I could fly up to a month before if needed. It also depends on where you are going. My doctor was fine with me flying as long as I was going to a place with good medical care.

I just got back from Florida yesterday -- I'm 33 weeks.
My doctor cleared me to fly up to 36 weeks. But like everyone else has said, it really depends on your doctor.

I'll tell you though, I never realized how small those seats are on a plane until now. I was so uncomfortable!
