Flying Question - red eye flight with DC

We are going away in a few weeks and both flights are red eye flights. I'm worried about DS not being about to fall asleep on the plane since its not his crib

And can I buy whole milk at the airport??? or get it on the plane, DS still takes a bottle in the PM

Call the airline - they should tell you if they can provide milk (or they will make special arrangements for you).

When my Dd was 1 we flew to Israel she couldn't sleep and was a disaster - so we gave her a little benadryl - (my dr. said it was ok) it helped her sleep.

To be honest, the red eye is the worst flight you can do. The airline gave us like a car seat for Noah to sit in, and he did fall asleep for about 3 hours out of our 6 hour red eye flight, but it was just a nightmare in general. Sorry to scare you...but we are back now 2 weeks and we are still recovering from that flight, the poor kids sleep patterns are all messed up STILL. If you can give the kid something to help him sleep before the flight, do it, however benedryl can make some kids hyper active...

Good Luck!

also, I buy milk in the airport when I get there, if the kid has to have 2% for a bottle or two, thats fine. You can't always get whole milk everywhere.

Re: Flying Question - red eye flight with DC

I flew the red eye with DD recently (she was 14 months old) and she slept the entire time. However, she generally sleeps well in her carseat. It did take a couple of weeks for her sleep schedule to get back to normal but I don't think that was due to the flight itself.

have fun.
