FLying wiith Toddler Car Seat Q.
So this will be the first trip for DD that we are purchasing a seat for her. Flight is 6-7 hours. We are taking our car seat with us -I dont want to check her car seat as I dont want it getting damaged.
Will I strap her into her car seat in the airplane or gate check the car seat and she will just be strapped into the airplane seat like any adult passengerl?

How old is she? I would put her in the carseat if you are bringing it and it is one she would normally sit in.

You can get a seatbelt extension and put her in the car seat and strap it in. This is the safest way to travel.

I agree on it being the safest way to travel and this way DC cant get up because he is strapped down
I usually fly alone so I end up checking her carseat (its the Britax marathon and huge). SO between the stroller, DD, carry on's and the carseat it was too much work.
The only thing I found bad about putting her in the car seat the few times I did was that she was right up against the seat in front of her, so she was kicking.. and coudlnt use the tray to put coloring books, portable DVD ect.

Where do you get a seatbelt extension from?
Do the airlines have them?

I used DD Briatx Marathon on the flight to FL. It fit in the seat, DD was comfortable, it worked out well for us.
Honestly, I would use the seat, rather than just the seatbelt on the plane

Thanks Ladies. She will be 26 mths when we travel. We have the britax marathon as well. Just concerned as I have never seen a car seat strapped in anytime we flew transatlantic before but maybe I wasnt looking!

Its funny, cause I said the same thing, when we just flew, and what do you know there was about 5-6 car seats on that flight

We had two car seats last time (Britax Boulevard). Just strap the carseat to the plane seat with the seatbelt. Then strap DC in the carseat like usual.
