flying with 4 month olds

im going to be flying (and MOVING) to nashville next wed or thurs - im starting to stress about it. the girls just turned 4 months and i have my DS who will be 4 years old. my mom is coming w me b.c my husband will be driving his car w the dog.

im going to have the snap and go w their car seats, i plan to gate check all of that. the car seat bases will be in my husband's car, as he is driving down there this weekend for his new job.

i saw TSA allows formula so i will have their bottles ready (they are on RTF formula)

we both will have baby bjorns to wear. we are taking a 10am or 12 noon flight - thats the best, i think i can do w getting out of the house and having the girls sleep (maybe!) and it is a little over a 2 hour flight.

other than that, typical diaper bag packed, what am i forgetting or what should i know about (ADVICE)

im not worried about my 4 year old - he has flown 2x - dvd and snacks are all he needs.

anything??? thanks in advance!!!

flying with 4 month olds

I flew with both babies when they were 5 mths it was fine I had snap and go right up until we boarded plane then we just carried them on the plane JetBlue didn't allow both babies in the same row so I packed two smller diaper bags with a bottle one diaper an lots of toys. I made sure they drank on take off and landing it was much easier than I thought it would be

Re: flying with 4 month olds

I flew with the triplets at 10 months old. Same as the PP, we used the snap and go strollers right up to the gate and then checked them. If the babies are lab children, only one per row so we all sat behind each other. I had tylenol, advil and Benadryl all in my bag for "just in case". They let you bring no bottles...so that was great, they just check it with a test strip at security. I gave them each a bottle at take or and landing to help their ears. I also prepared large ziplock bags before hand with 1 diaper, a few wipes (in a smaller ziplock) and disposable changing pads (i actually used the plastic pads they used at the hospital after I gave birth). This way anyone who took one of the babies to get changed would just grab a ziplock and didnt have to bring in a large diaper bag and eveerything just went right in the garbage afterwards. Honestly i found that going through the airport and security were the hardest part. They slept most of the flight and were pretty well behaved.
We are planning on flying with them again this spring...they will be 22months...i think that will be a different story Chat Icon

GOOD LUCK with the move!
