FMLA ??? yes another ??

this is what I was told from my " HR" department

" If you are going out on Family Leave, I would need documentation from your doctor and only then would you receive a letter stating you are going on the FMLA. "

was anyone else told they need a documnet from there doc??

Yes, I was told the same thing. I was also told I will need a letter from my dr. clearing me to return to work as well.

well that I could understand Ok to go back to work But I am working up till the point that I give birth?? is that what you did?

Well I am working up to the point I give birth too, so I haven't done anything yet. But was told I will need a note from the dr, how else will they know that you are truely eligible for FMLA.

It is normal for them to ask for a doctor note to go out on FMLA. They need documentation for it for many reasons. You should also require a doctors note to return to work.

Your doctor has to fill out some paperwork for disability pay through the state as well, so I would think that would double as documentation for FMLA.
