Foam/Pillow Top mattress - retain heat???
So I just bought a new Sealy's & Foster foam pillow top mattress and I have to say, it is the most comfortable bed in the world!! I can't wait to get into bed each night and I dread getting up in the morning. It literally feels like you're body is melting into the bed.
The only problems: 1. The mattress and boxspring are so big that the bed dwarfs my room. The top of the bed is so high (to the middle of my waist) that I have to jump to get on!!
2. It retains heat. In the middle of the night I wake up drenched in sweat. Is this a product of the pillow top or the foam???
Does anyone else have this problem? The little pamphlet I got with the bed said that the foam adjusts to outside temperature, meaning it retains warmth in the winter and stays cool in the summer.

it's warm in the winter and cool in the summer but it retains warmth. that includes the warmth from your body. I had to get rid of mine for that same reason. tooo hot!

Personally, I love high beds, so I don't see that as a problem.
As for the retaining heat, our friends have one and that was their biggest complaint. My DH and I stayed in their bed one night and we experienced it for ourselves. I'm always freezing at night (especially at their house) and I couldn't believe how hot I got on that bed.

We just returned our Tempurpedic for the exact reason you mention - it was REALLY WARM! We loved the bed, but couldn't stand being hot.
We ended up with a Simmons Beauty Rest and are sleeping much better now.
