Follicle growth?
I know it would be different for everyone but it there any info out there about how fast follicles grow? I went to the RE for monitoring yesterday and I had a follicle that was 11.5. They left me a message saying I didn't have to go back until Tuesday. That seems like a long time to me but I don't really know. Does this sound like a long time to anyone else? Or am I just being paranoid? Thanks!

My RE told me they can grow 1.5mm every day..so if you went yesterday and it was 11.5 you should prob be around 16mm come Tues.

that sounds pretty normal. they grow at most 2mm a day. so they are hoping its mature when you come in on tuesday. depending on what meds you are on, maturity is 17-20mm.
for a reference point, as of yesterday i have about 30 follies (for IVF) all in the 10-12mm range. i have to go back tomorrow but i wont be ready to trigger for a few more days. ill prob go in at least one more time after tomorrows appointment, maybe even 2 more times.

Thanks for the input! I feel so much better. I had no idea how fast they grow. Last month, I O'd really early and I guess I was worried it would happen again. Hopefully, Tuesday will be a good day!

You might want to also consider asking your Dr. for cetrotide or ganerilix to suppress your natural LH surge and allow you to enable your follies to grow to the optimal size. This way...you will not have to worry about ovulating prematurely.

They typically grow 2mm a day, but I had one last cycle that went from 13.5 to 21.5 in 2 days. They measured it 6 times because they couldn't believe it.

Last month, when I O'd earlier my follicle was 20mm the day before so I think that's a normal size. It's just that it was earlier in my cycle. Just hoping there's a good sized follicle when I go in the am!
