follicle size
are follicles that measure 36 mm healthy for fertilization? after 2nd cycle on clomid one of my follies measure 36 mm. I wasn't sure if they can grow too big and therefore be considered unhealthy.

Re: follicle size
If you ask your Dr. I would guess that he would say 36mm is a cyst. A follicle doesn't normally grow that big and if it did, it's no longer any good. Most follies are mature between 20 and 25 mm and you should ovulate at that point.

Re: follicle size
Honestly, No thats a little too large and I agree with Gerty, sounds more like a cyst to me. A follie would have released the egg by now.

They didn't say anything about that being a cyst. they did say that a follicle that size is not unheard of while on clomid. I don't know what to think.

Re: follicle size
My doc told me he wanted to force ovulation with a shot when I had one in the 20"s. He said they can get over ripe ( too big) and then are not quality eggs.
