Food for parents at kid's party
What do you normally order? I have about 30 (maybe more) adults coming to DD's birthday party. Is this overkill?
2 wrap platters (each platter feeds 20-24 people) Veggie platter Cheese platter
Cookie platter in addition to cake
Is this enough? Too much? I'm not a cheap person by any means but this hour but this is costing a small fortune.

Re: Food for parents at kid's party
thats plenty. We usually order a few extra pizzas and call it a day.
I would probably drop the cookies. If the kids see it, they will want one. Then you need cookies for kids and adults. Parents can have cake.
If you want, you could add a pasta salad or fruit salad instead but I think the wraps are fine.

I think that’s very generous. I agree that I usually just get some extra pies of pizza and dessert.

I would probably drop the cheese platter and the cookies. I think wraps, veggies, and cake is plenty for a 1.5-2 hour party. Many parents won't eat anything from my experience.

You will def have leftovers. Even just the wraps would be fine.

i wouldn't bother with the cheese platter and cookies. Wraps and a couple extra pizzas will be fine, plus just make sure theres some extra cake. Even when you have extra food for the adults, a lot of times they don't eat it HAHA we just had DS's 4th birthday party on saturday. we had 15 kids and about 15/16 adults. i ordered 5 pizzas and got a costco sandwich tray. i ended up with 2 extra pizzas and about half the sandwich tray left. PLUS a bunch of extra cupcakes! AND this was at about 4:30/5, so getting into dinner time. AND these were our close group of friends- so they should've felt comfortable taking food when i told them to HAHAHA i think the adults are usually busy helping out the kids, or just catching up with each other, they don't eat as much.

What kind of party is it? My DS’s parties (everything beyond his first birthday) we just gave everyone pizza.

Is the part at a place or your house? I would just order extra pizza or a wrap platter. In my experience, the adults hardly eat.

It's at a kids party place and is an hour and a half long.
I think I'm going to scrap the cheese and cookies. I was originally going to do wraps and salads but figured forkless stuff would be better since the parents will be helping their kids.

Re: Food for parents at kid's party
I just do pizza. I spend enough money on the party.
I have been to parties where parents do have wraps or other hot foods but its not the norm

Re: Food for parents at kid's party
It also depends on the time. If it spans a normal meal time (12-1:30, 5-6:30, etc), then adults will eat more. If it's in between meals, then most people will probably just graze.

Food for parents at kid's party
definitely enough-- more than enough- I agree skip teh cookies and cheese and add a salad if you want (but not necessary).
Im kind of over feeding the parents and cant wait for drop off parties lol I am having DD's bday in a few weeks -its from 10-11:30. I decided to skip the parent food this time and just have carafes of coffee and cake for them. BUt if it were lunch time i would feel differently

Re: Food for parents at kid's party
For the adults, I always order a 3 foot hero with side potato and macaroni salads. If the venue menu does not offer heroes, I order small cut up sandwiches. I'll order pizza pies for the adults too. Maybe 2 or 3 pies for 30 people.
