Food ideas for 1 year old?
I am starting the transition to milk tomorrow. My concern is that she doesn't eat much at all. I didn't worry as much with her still on formula but once she is on milk I am worried she is not getting enough nutrients. Her diet consists of scrambled eggs, cheese, bananas, and green beans. Once in awhile she will eat what we are having for dinner but every meal is tiny, she takes a few bites. She refuses baby food now too. Any thoughts or ideas of healthy foods to try? TIA

Re: Food ideas for 1 year old?
I would definitely start introducing more variety, and don't be afraid to offer stronger tasting foods. Ava will gobble up chicken francaise, but turn her nose up to roasted chicken now. Here's some things I give Ava: blueberry pancakes whole wheat waffles cinnamon raisin french toast (I make it myself, no frozen, fried stuff for her!) Regular toast with jelly low sodium turkey cold cuts turkey meatballs turkey meatloaf any kind of fruit any kind of steamed veggies (she loves broccoli) potato gnocchi elbow macaronis in a marinara sauce grilled zucchini with a little balsamic vinegar on it Homemade chicken fingers (I used a chicken breast, cut into thin strips, dredge in honey mustard dressing, then in crushed whole wheat crackers and bake) Sweet potato "fries" (I cut the sweet potato into "fries", sprinkle with cinnamon and alittle brown sugar and bake them) soy burgers veggie burgers potato pancakes hummus with pita grape leaves rice and beans chick peas marinated with a little olive oil and lemon
The list could go on...don't be afraid to give her things. You'd be surprised what they like! Ava definitely gravitates towards very strong tasting foods. I can never go wrong with pasta and garlic and oil. THe kid can't get enough. Anyway, just keep trying. Even though it seems like she's not eating enough, she probably is. They have tiny tummies

DD just turned 1 and doesn't eat a whole lot of solid food either. I give her Next Step formula twice a day because I feel like it helps make up for lack of eating.

Wow! That is some good food! Can you cook for me? Just kidding but thank you. I will keep on trying. Her 2 top teeth are coming in so I am sure that is not helping her appetite.

Re: Food ideas for 1 year old?
Aly has had alot of trouble getting used to table foods but in the last couple of weeks she has been able to eat : grilled cheese cinnamon raison toast beef stew (only a very little though) a few ziti with sauce
she is refusing baby foods most of the time so I am getting worried because she still has such ahard time with table foods..and when she does eat them, its not very much - 3 or 4 mouthfuls.
