Wrestling Superstar Found Dead

WWE superstar Chris Benoit, 40, his wife Nancy and young son were found dead in their Atlanta home early this afternoon, this according to WWE.com.
No further details regarding the tragedy have been released. Benoit was scheduled to appear at a pay-per-view event last night ... WWE said that there was a "family emergency" that prevented him from being there.
Benoit, a former World Heavyweight Champ, wreaked havoc with his signature move, the "Crippler Crossface."
The incident comes on the heels of the shocking death of former WWE wrestler "Sensational" Sherri Martel, and the supposed "assassination" of WWE head honcho Vince McMahon. TMZ has learned that the WWE is scrapping all references to the McMahon death storyline on tonight's episode of "Raw.'
According to the official WWE website, tonight's "Raw" will serve as a tribute to the wrestling great.
Police are investigating the incident.

I just told DH this and he is so bummed. He has pictures of him and Benoit.
He said the same thing he just can't believe the whole family.

'Canadian Crippler' once lived in Edmonton, Sherwood Park
Professional wrestler Chris Benoit was found dead along with his family this afternoon in his Atlanta home, according to published reports.
The Atlanta-Journal Constitution is reporting authorities confirmed that Benoit, 40, his wife, Nancy, and their 7-year-old son were found dead at the home on Quarters and Redwine roads in Fayetteville.
The Montreal-born Benoit, who moved to Edmonton when he was 12 years old, lived in Sherwood Park as recently as May 2000.
World Wrestling Entertainment issued a release over Benoit's death.
"World Wrestling Entertainment is deeply saddened to report that today Chris Benoit and his family were found dead in their home," the statement reads.
"There are no further details at this time, other than the Benoit family residence is currently being investigated by local authorities.
WWE spokeswoman Cheryl Kong in Toronto said Monday night’s “Raw” TV program would serve as a tribute to Benoit and his family.
Benoit was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career.
Benoit was scheduled to wrestle at the Vengeance pay-per-view Sunday night in Houston, but was replaced at the last minute because of what announcer Jim Ross called “personal reasons.”

Professional wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and their young son were found dead in their Georgia home Monday, according to a statement on the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Web site.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is on the scene and, "an investigation is ongoing," a spokesperson told FOX News.
Benoit, 40, was supposed to appear on a pay-per-view event last night, but didn't. The WWE said there was a "family emergency" that prevented the former world heavyweight champ from attending.
The WWE said it was "deeply saddened," and that instead of its announced programming for tonight on USA Network, it will air a three-hour tribute to Benoit.
"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the statement read.
Benoit was known for his famous move, the "Crippler Crossface."

This is so sad....I wonder if it was carbon monoxide poisoning or something else. The whole family They are showing pictures of them on WWE Raw and the little boy looked like he was around 7 years old. So sad

im going to go watch the tribute show and i'll have my thoughts some time tomorrow
we lost one of the best and losing the whole family is tragically horrible

We have WWE on now and they were showing old matches and DH is yelling at the TV that he was at one of those matches.
This is so sad. It definately sounds like carbon monixide poisoning.

Ya but with the McMahon thing It wasn't on the news or anything. I don't know you could just tell that was fake and this is for real!
I remembered we were at the match with Droz when he got paralyzed. These kids behind were like oh thats not really and we saw the second he landed it was for real. You just know.

everyone knew the Vince thing was fake, and Im sooo glad he actually came out tonight and said it...b/c how can you joke about Death when it really happens....It was a weird coincidence though, that the tribute show to vince was tongith.

Very true, I was at Summerslam when Austin got hurt, he landed on his head, you defintely knew that something was wrong.
