For girls who workout on a PRECOR ELLIPTICAL...

Do you use the machine with moveable arms and a fixed incline, or do you prefer the stationary arms with an adjustable incline? Why or why not? I just purchased a Precor machine today and now I'm in second-guessing mode. Help!

We have one here at the house - it's the one without the movable arms. For some reason I'm just not keen on that feature but I know some people like it.

When I use the one at the gym, I always go for the stationary arms. I feel like if my arms are moving, I concentrate less on my legs and get less of a workout. That's probably just me, though Chat Icon Chat Icon .

If you got the one with the movable arms, does it have a separate place where you can put your arms if you don't want them to move? I know the one at the gym does.

The one that has both the moveable arms and the adjustable incline is only available in the commercial line and it is wayyyyy out of my budget. Which feature do you find yourself using more? Which do you feel is more beneficial? Which would you go with if you had to chose between them? Your input is much appreciated. Thanks. (I so hate second-guessing mode.)

I use it at the gym and I always feel like the best workout is with the moveable arms AND the adjusting incline. I'm moving in a few weeks and will be spending however much it takes to get this in my house.

Sorry, just read your response above. If I had to choose, I would go with the moveable arms. As long as I can set resistance on my legs, I don't need incline.

I prefer the moveable arms. Usually there is a spot to rest your arms if you want to concentrate on your legs so you are kind of getting both.

If I had to choose, I would go with movable arms. YOu can always rest your arms and focus on legs only with increased resistance.

Re: For girls who workout on a PRECOR ELLIPTICAL...

Thanks everyone. I went with the stationary arms and the adjustable incline because the sales guy pointed out that I can use free weights on my own while on the elliptical and that would actually be a better workout because the moveable arms don't really offer any resistance. And I really like the idea of the adjustable incline and being able to focus on different areas (my butt). But now I'm sooo confused. They are both the same price (3K).
