For Moms that go/went to Mommy and Me swim class
I just thought of this when I was getting my stuff ready for Sunday's first class (East Meadow)...
Is there a place to change (both myself and DS) and should I bring the stroller. I am wondering where will I put DS (6 months old) while I am getting dressed/undressed. Sometime places are not very stroller friendly and I just want to be prepared.
TIA!

I take my DS to swim class and notice that alot of moms come already dressed to swim. They have their bathing suit underneath a terry cloth robe. Their babies are dressed too so they just take their robes off and go...
Afterwards, they put they rinse in the shower or just put their robe back on and go... They do change their babies after swimming though since you can't put a wet baby in a stroller.

Re: For Moms that go/went to Mommy and Me swim class
I did Mommy and Me at Safety swim. There where private dressing rooms for you and baby, and plenty of room to leave your stroller in the locker room. There are also lockers.I left my pocket book in the car and just brought in my keys. I also came in my bathing suit with a cover up. I brought a bag in with towels, diapers, wipes and a change of clothes for DS. I would bring DS in his bathing suit and change him afterwards. I also use to just carry him in, instead of bringing in the stroller. As soon as I got home, I would give DS a bath and then take a shower myself. Hope this helps!

Re: For Moms that go/went to Mommy and Me swim class
I did mommy and me swimming wiht DS last year in suffolk county. We were at a high school, so we changed in the girls' locker room. DS was about 10 - 12 months at the time
I would go to swimming already dressed and we live really close to the school, so I would put DS in his swimmy diaper and regular clothes and put a "wee wee pad" (for puppies) in the car seat in case he peed in the swimmy diaper since i hear those don't work unless they are wet.
In the locker room I would just have to get undressed and change DS into his swim shorts.
When we were done I would change DS first and then sit him on the bench and change myself really quickly - I don't think I even wore any underwear home (tmi) just enough to get in teh car and get home.
Other moms did bring strollers and left them in the locker room. Not sure why I never did that!
Have fun!!!

At East Meadow it would be hard to get the stroller down the flight of stairs. They wouldn't let my friend use the elevator with the stroller. They said it was for handicapped people only.
There are only 3 changing rooms for the parents. I came dressed in my bathing suit. there aren't lockers but there is space under the changing tables to leave your stuff.
