for mom's that pump

How many ozs do you freeze for one session? for example my DS eats 4ozs now. is that how many ozs that i freeze or should i up it to 5 oz?


also the freezer bags all say up to 5 ozs can you put more in there or will it only hold 5 oz..

this morning i pumped 7 ozs should i split that up and freeze 4 ozs and then 3 ozs or should i do 5 ozs.. how do you now what to do...

I freeze in 5oz batches. You can leave the bags in the frig until you have enough to fill them up. I wouldn't put just 3oz in a bag - you'll go through a ton of bags.

you should only mix within the day that you pump correct? and once its in the frige you can freeze? i thought that you had to freeze right away

yes, I only mix from the same day.

I read that you shouldn't freeze immediately, you should cool it off in the frig first and then freeze.

ohh really i have been frezzong right away should i through them out? i only started to pump and freeze yesterday so its only 4 bags??? do you think that they will go bad?

Yes, only mix from the same day...interesting, I never knew you had to let it cool down first.

I started freezing 5 oz. & now that DD is eating 7 oz. I try to freeze that or 8 oz. The Lansolin bags hold 6oz & I fill them higher, no problems.

You can store for 3-6 months, so I wouldn't freeze too many 5 oz. b/c she'll be drinking more.
