my DH and SIL are going to throw me a shower, but i sort of feel guilty, b/c we just had the wedding in june as well as my bridal shower and people were so generous, do you think the same guests are going to be put off that they have to come to another shower and spend more $$?

I'm in the same position...I felt very funny about it, but my husband and my families were upset when they heard I didn't want a shower because I didn't want people to feel funny about our endless parties this year...I told my sister-in-laws and moms that if they felt it was appropriate I would love it, but that I wanted it to be small and not a big expense for anyone.

i felt funny too, however if people dont want to come they wont.

I never really thought of it that way. Well, people want to celebrate babies, they do. So, I wouldn't worry about it.

I got pregnant six months after my wedding, but I never really thought about it b/c my bridal shower was in December of 2005, wedding in February of 2006 and my baby shower isn't until April 2007.

Mine is mostly family.. so I know they will prob. Come.. I have been thinking about it too.. If they dont come they dont come is how I feel.. Here is how mine went:

Bridal Shower : 2/26/06
Wedding : 4/8/06
Baby Shower: 3/11/07

I did kinda good though cause our Engagement party was 8/6/04 so they al had alot of time in between.. I just think of all the other parties I have to go to on a monthly basis cause we have a a big family.. Its finally my turn !!

I got pregnant one month after my wedding and I felt the same way, but my mom convinced me to do it, she said that I would have a shower at some point anyway so who cares if it's so soon, so I agreed. It was in the same place as my bridal shower too, less than a year later, it was like deja vu. Plus, people love an excuse to celebrate and to buy cute baby stuff.

I feel a little bad, but I look at it as getting everything done with in a small period of time. My bridal shower was in september, wedding in october and baby shower in february.

The worst part for me was that i only had 1 person in my bridal party so my mom spent so much money on throwing my bridal shower, but luckily, my aunt is throwing the baby shower for me!

I was sort of thinking the same thing - I just got married, and everyone celebrated that - I'm wondering if people are going to be like - another gift?

my wedding was in July, and i i just got preg, my sister is preg also, and i want to throw her a awesome shower she through me such a great bridal shower.. i guess guests will have to do what they have to do .. not sure in this situation

I got married February 29th and was pregnant by June. I did not want a shower for that exact reason, but I was thrownone anyone. I was more upset by it than the people that were there. I don't think it really matters, but I do understand why you are felling that way. As a guest, I feel you would have gotten pregnant at some point! Don't stress it...

Don't worry, people will come and buy gifts.

EVERYBODY LOVESSSSS babies, totally different than weddings!!

After DD was born, friends, relatives, people i see maybe once a year sent very generous gifts, even for this past xmas, DD was 8 months old, she still got congrats checks in xmas cards from relatives we don't see very often.

If people don't want to come or give a gift, I am not worried. I have found people more willing to give for this baby than they were for the wedding...already there are relatives knitting things and deciding which big items to purchase.

I'm in the same position. We just got married in November and we're due in June with our first child, a . I'm still very undecided about whether I want a shower or not.

I didn't feel guilty because a) no one has to come if they don't want to b)everyone was very happy for us and c) I would have had a baby shower when I got pregnant anyway

I was in the same positio with my first, but I didn't feel guilty because its for 2 seperate things, and people don't have to come if they don't want to!
