For moms who swaddle their DC at night..
When did you stop this? And is there a certain time you think you should start to wean them off and let them sleep without it?

I did swaddle DS; it was the only way he would sleep as a newborn. I stopped once he was able to kick out of it.

Did he still sleep through the night? When dd isnt swaddled she always wakes herself because her hands are swinging around.

DS is going to be 3 mos on Saturday and I've been wondering the same thing.
I can't bear the thought of having to transition if it means no sleep again.

Yes this is exactly how I feel. I'm afraid if I wait too long it will be like the first few weeks after she was born again.

Did he still sleep through the night? When dd isnt swaddled she always wakes herself because her hands are swinging around. In the beginning it was rough, but at that point he also started sleeping on his side, which is how he sleeps now. I think it took him a little to realise he was still safe.

We stopped at about 4.5 months for a few reasons. He was able to bust out of it (we would be in the LR and all of the sudden hear the velcro ripping open ), the weather was warming up and he was just too hot in it and he was starting to roll over and I didn't want him rolling in the swaddle - it made me too nervous.

DD is almost 6 months and we still swaddle her at night. Our ped said that when she started breaking out of it on a regular basis then it's time to take it away, but she does not sleep well at all not swaddled so we continue to do it at night.
