How much do you spend on their fundraising stuff? Now we're getting hit up for Little League...thought I'd have the summer off! I'd rather just give them a wad of cash at the beginning of the school year then have to buy the over priced junk they have to sell! We must drop close to a grand a year between the 2 older ones...thankfully the little ones have a few years to go.

Re: for the Aunts and Uncles

We only have one niece and one nephew, my sister's kids.

The only fundraising she has hit me up for is Girl Scout Cookies. We buy at least a dozen boxes, Chat Icon.
DH and I both take ther order form into work, because as we put it, this is payback for the 20-something years we bout from other people's kids.
Honestly, we don't mind paying for fundraising for "our" kids.

DH and I also buy stuff from some of our co-workers, I've bout holiday gift bags and wrap, stuff that I can use or gift. DH tends to buy candy.
I don't have a problem saying no to those who I know won't buy from me in return.

We have one of each... and well honestly... we dont spend a dime on "fundraising"... strange parents dont have them involved in anything that has fundraising events....

then again, i always question my sisters parenting methods.....

As a kid, I always thougth my (child-free) aunt was sooo nice for buying cookies from me & bringing it into work too, but as an adult without any Girl Scouts her in life, I see she was doing a favor for her co-workers too. Chat Icon

I don't have any neices /nephews, but I would just buy 1 thing from each for each fundraising event, unless it is something you really want.

Re: for the Aunts and Uncles

I look forward to the Innisbrook Wrapping Paper and the GS cookies.

I'd say we spend about $100/year.

No one ever asks me though - I have to specifically ask them! Chat Icon

Re: for the Aunts and Uncles

A thousand a year?? Chat Icon Wow. I would buy something, but not go nuts because most of it is useless crap to me. Chat Icon Ditto for my sister who went through a phase where she was having Pampered Chef parties, Lia Sophia parties, etc.

I wish there was some way for me to get money out of my relatives. Maybe I should register Ginger for the Girl Scouts. Chat Icon
