I'm not a recently BTDT but will answer on Pack & Play options that were important to me to consider:

Side storage - particularly if your place is small like ours was. We kept diapers, creams, etc in the side pockets & used the changing table that came with it.

Canopy - particuarly nice if you opt for beaches later on or sitting outside with them in warmer weather.

To be honest we used the p-n-p for a very short amount of time. If your nursery will be on a second floor, you can continue to use the p-n-p as a changing station downstairs. (I had a changing pad on the dresser in the nursery and a changing table in the DR downstairs... still do... where I kept onesies, pj's, socks, bibs, etc.)

I never registered for one, got one from a friend.
We used it downstairs for the first two to three weeks but their combined weight reached the limit pretty quickly. The twin p-n-p never seemed worth the extra $$$ to me. I know one twin mommy who has it now and she hasn't used it passed week 6.

I did get a second p-n-p from a friend and kept both at the IL's house so the kids could nap when we visited.
