For the girls who blow out their hair straight (Brianne) can you give me some tips?
Brianne, all the pictures I have seen of you and when I met you in person, your hair looks so shiney and beautiful and straight. I have such a hard time doing this myself, when I get back from the salon my hair looks AWESOME!!!, but I can never do it myself.
Any tips or pointers?

I use Fekkai glossing cream - its yellow, and comes in a tube. I bought it at Bath & Body Works, but it's sold elsewhere. The tube says "style and shine with pure olive oil" - and it really works!!!
Plus, I use a high powered blow dryer with a concentrator tip
eta: Oh, and blow drying in sections makes a huge difference. I use 4 or 5 clips.

I use a big round brush and section out my hair and dry one section at a time, slowly. Sometimes I use a flat iron after that but not usually because its just too much damage for my hair.

How do you do the one section over and over w/out turning the blow dryer off?

Hey Tara, You know my hair is straight, but I lived with Elena for four years in college so I have a lot of experience from watching her! She usually did the round brush trick...Use clips to clip back most of your hair, leaving only a small section. Then use the round brush (hers is very large) on that one section for a while, until dry. You'll be holding the dryer in your left hand, with the brush in the right...
But I love yours wavy anyway!

Beth, you are so sweet. Phil hates my hair wavy, he loves it straight. I used hot curlers for New Years Eve and hated it.
Oh, my hair is a different color. It's much deeper, I am still trying to decide if I like it. I am not sure if it looks unnatural or not????
How was your New Years? We ended up going out to dinner with Jeff and Janel and Amanda and Brian.

This dryer has seriously revolutionized drying my hair straight.
You brush your hair straight as you blow it dry - all it one shot. I kid you not when I say that I flip my head upside down and start drying it. Completely dry and straight in 8-10 minutes at most!! I have worn it out so much that I am about to get my third one!

I have this blow dryer, the same exact one! And I am on my third one too. But my hair doesn't turn out as goood as yours. Do you use product?

Re: For the girls who blow out their hair straight (Brianne) can you give me some tips?
I don't use anything expensive - just a little laminant/straightener by Citre Shine. I've tried a lot of different ones and I like it the best. A lot of times I don't bother drying in the summer because it's a losing battle, but once summer's over, it's totally a breeze for me.

Can I get that at CVS? I am going to try it. I changed my hair color a bit and I love it my my hairdresser blew it out straight.

Yeah - Citre Shine is available at any drug store or supermarket.
I'll be trying this, especially since we use the same dryer.
Is your hair naturally wavy?

My hair has gone from naturally very curly to naturally wavy over the years. It has definitely thinned out and gotten straighter, so that's why it's also easier, but definitely is not what I would call straight by itself!

It's annoying that I have to buy another one AGAin though! The brush wears out and it no longer stays on the dryer - it keeps falling off! The actual dryer motor is fine - the attachment is to worn to stay on!! Right now I have it stuck on with three ponytail holders!!

When I met you at the GTG your hair was straight and shiny, were you using the blow dryer and product at this time? I think the GTG was in May?

It's $23 on the conair website. It's in that general price range in the store.

I use those big butterfly type clips to clip all my hair out of the way except the section I'm drying...and I hold the dryer in my left hand and my brush in my right...so I dont have to turn off the dryer.
My hair is very curly, spiral curls and is pretty thick so drying each section slowly works better for me. If I rush and do it fast, it gets frizzier and doesnt work as well.

Yeah - I would have been. I haven't dried my hair straight with a regular dryer in a long time - too much of a pain in the azz. I used to dry it with this dryer but section it, but now it's even faster and easier to just flip my head over and dry it like that.

Not much, like $20 or so, but I have had to buy one each year. I have blown it out every year or so for 4 years, I think it is a Conair.

This happens to mee too, but the motor actually blows out before I will get a new one.
