For the girls with the Nikon cameras

Do you really see a difference in the pictures that you take now?

I am thinking of asking for one for my birthday - but I'm not sure if I just take bad pics....and it has nothing to do with the camera I'm using...or if my pics would be great if I used a Nikon.

Thoughts please!

i have the nikon d80 and it was the best investment i have ever made. the pictures are amazing, the colors are so vivid and the images are very clear. i know alot of ladies on here have a nikon and love it.

My pictures are definately much better with the Nikon!

Here is the difference. In both examples, the first one is with my Canon Powershot S500, which is a very good point and shoot; and the second with my Nikon D40. (I tried to find two pictures from the same room, with the same lighting.)

I went from a Nikon 35 mm (film) to a Nikon D70 SLR (digital).

The photos were just as clear since they were both SLRs. If you're talking the difference between a non-digital SLR and a digital SLR, the difference is absolutely noticeable.


Some people do take crappy photos. My 9 year old niece grabs my camera all of the time. There is something to cropping, angles, etc but IMO anyone can take better photos with a digital SLR, particularly once he starts to crawl, walk & run.
